A Tribute to J.J. Johnson & Kai Winding The Hugh Fraser Bone 5-tet is built on the iconic J & K Quintet from the early 50's partnership of African American inventor of modern jazz trombone, J.J.Johnson and Danish born big band trombonist Kai Winding with piano, bass and drums. Juno award winning and five time Toronto Jazz Report Trombonist of the year, Hugh Fraser unites with Juilliard graduate and professor of the UBC classical trombone program Jerremy Berkman to revisit through Hugh’s unpublished transcriptions of J & K's masterpieces with veteran Vancouver jazz masters; pianist Bob Murphy, drummer Blaine Wikjord and bassist Andre Lachance.
